Ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles from 2030

From 2030, a ban on the sales of new petrol and diesel vehicles is being introduced with the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as reported in The Times.  Scientists have reported this will have a beneficial effect on air quality as related to people’s health. One issue that still needs to be considered, Professor Frank Kelly raised, is the challenge of air pollution from tyres, which also shed toxic particles.
