Limiting air pollution could prevent thousands of death annually in Europe

A study in the Lancet journal assessed premature mortality due to air pollution in European cities and found that reducing fine particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide to safe WHO levels could prevent an estimated 50,000 premature deaths each year, as reported in The Guardian.
